Upgrading ISE via .iso

I've been having difficulties transferring the .tar.gz to my ISE PAN/PSN and was wondering if anyone knew if I could complete an upgrade via the .iso? 1.4 > 2.1

As far as I know, you can only install with the ISO, but not upgrade.

What is the error that you see when you try to upgrade? Did you try to upgrade in the 2-phased approach prepare/proceed?

Got it fixed. Was an issue with the transfer of the upgrade file itself, not ISE.
