I have a phenomena where a user stays forever in the "logged-in users". This happens when a certain laptop disables the connection while the AP is down/out of sight. The user stays in the list forever, what can be done to deal with this ??

ACS needs to receive stop accounting packets to remove a user from the "logged-in users" list.

Have you configured start-stop accounting on the AP ?

There is a stop-start accounting configured. What happens if the AP disassociates the laptop, but meanwhile the AP is unreachable ?? For the AP, the laptop is gone but the AAA server has received no stop, so it stays in the logged-in users list, do I overlook something ?

Many thanks,

Lieven Stubbe

Belgian Railways
