I just booted up a 3850 on a lan base licenses and during auth the device sensor cache was forwarded to ISE via radius accounting. The table posted by Thomas is correct based on my testing, not sure why the configuration guide says it won't work on lan base.

Which license on 3850 for Device Sensor?

A customer is asking which license is needed on the 3850 to run Device Sensor, as e found conflicting information on 2 different links.

Can you please confirm (I believe the second link should be correct), and possibly clarify the documentation?

From this document we got ““Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) based profiling is not supported on the LAN Base image.”

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3850/software/release/16-2/configuration_guide/b_162_consolidated_3850_cg/b_162_consolidated_3850_cg_chapter_010010111.html

From this document we got “Device Sensor - Catalyst Supported Platforms”

https://community.cisco.com/t5/security-documents/device-sensor-catalyst-supported-platforms/ta-p/3618782

Thanks
