Hi,

Yes. Radius authentication whether 802.1x or AAA takes up a Base license while that session is in progress.

Hi Team,

I am working on a Cisco ISE opportunity. Our customer is having non-Cisco switches, which do not support TACACS+ authentication. Alternatively, we have proposed Radius-based device authentication.

I just wanted to confirm that this Radius-based device authentication for these switches will consume Base license via concurrent sessions or not?

In other words, do I have to consider these switches in my estimate for ISE Base licence, if our customer decides to do Radius-based device authentication for these switches?

Thanks in advance for your support.

Best Regards,
