There is this on going deployment and we got a requirement from the client, it focuses on:

Generating reports based on the number of users that are in open mode and closed mode authentication.

I check through the reporting in ISE, but I was not able to locate any such reports, I will able to see the authentication summary reports, but found that they are not that useful in for the above scenario.

Does anyone has generated such kind of reports before?

Or is there any other work around that could be used to capture these details?

Any pointers...

Closed/Open mode is just a setting on the Switchport and is not something ISE is aware of so you will not be able to generate reports in ISE for this.

Possibly using a network management tool you could try and get some rough numbers on who is in Open/closed mode, but not from ISE.
