ISE authentication User in HEX

Hi,

as i am from Germany and we are having the non-extended-ASCII character "ß" as an equal of double-S quit often in names appearing,

i came across this speciality in ISE Logs:

e.g.:

tesst.teßter(at)test.com is HEX equal to

t e s s t . t e ß t e r @ t e s t . c o m

74 65 73 73 74 2e 74 65 df 74 65 72 40 74 65 73 74 2e 63 6f 6d

an when one authenticates via WLAN/802.1X, the username gets displayed in ISE as HEX only.

That is very confusing at the first moment, only the Anchor WLC shows the correct username.

Anyone knows if this behaviour comes from ISE or the WLC or RADIUS?

ISE2.2/P7, WLC 55XX 8.3.140.0

Where are you seeing this in ISE?

Operations > Radius > Live Logs.

First name is Sebastian(73:65:62:61...) and surname includes the "ß"

Email ends on ".de"(2e:64:65)
