Would recommend using the evaluation version which has lower resource requirements

https://cisco.app.box.com/v/ISE-Eval

I have a customer that would like to kick the tires on ISE but doesn't have a virtual environment or UCS server to install the software on. Was wondering if we could install eval software on a 3rd party server understanding that there will be no support?

Basically what I am asking is there anything that will restrict installation on a 3rd party server?

Unfortunately, no. ISE can only be installed in a virtual environment or on a SNS appliance.

Regards,

-Tim

That’s fine, but is this new with 2.3?

Not new, if it happened to work in the past it was a long time ago before we did hardware checks (you might have had an internal copy). Regardless, its not something that we have now.
