The installation is running ISE 2.1 and has about 400 endpoints. It is base licenses, wired AuthC/ AuthZ right now. The Xerox printers are doing MAB now. we need to rectify this. The profiling engine looks like it has a pretty solid start to a profile fro Xerox printers. To take advantage this profiling capability, I would simply need to add a quantity of Plus licenses, correct? Since there is a profile that exists for these printers, does it burn a licenses when the printer joins the environment?

Hi,

Yes you will need to order plus license for profiling. The profile it is going to burn he license, however on ISE the license is burned till the session is active and then released. This is done on the basis of RADIUS accounting “start” and “stop” messages to determine when network sessions begin and end.

Please see below link for all these details:-

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/security/identity-services-engine/guide_c07-656177.pdf
