Howon,

Being alphabetical helps, they can letter them A, B, C... or 1, 2, 3,.... and do this by name. They don't want to create individual groups for different users. They have lots of people (more than 100) who use this system to assign temporary access and see 150,000 people who hit this network on a weekly basis. The other thing to note is how they use it. You are correct that when they select a group, it will be there for the next one, except when they log out of the system and come back the next day or whenever. They have lots of different people doing this, not a centralized help desk or a few people who do it. Thanks for the help.

Default Guest type for Sponser Portal

How do you control the default guest type in the sponsor portal?

You do not seem to have control over which user group is default on the Sponsor portal. If you leave the defaults 'contractor' is always the default, and there doesn't appear to be a way to change it.

What if I wanted 'daily' to be the default instead of 'contractor'? Sponsors are lazy and don't change the toggle, so everybody they sign up end up being whatever the default is, in this case contractor.

No one seems to know how to do this. Is it alphabetical? Is it the first one entered? Would be nice to be able to select it. Thanks.

Yes, it is listed alphabetically. However, once a selection is made and guest account has been created it will default to last used guest type for subsequent login. You can limit which guest type a sponsor can create by changing 'Sponsor Groups' settings.

If you are looking to use only one specific Guest Type for a particular Sponsor or group of sponsors, you can create a new Sponsor Group by going to Work Centers > Guest Access > Portals & Components > Sponsor Groups (Work Centers > Guest Access > Configure > Sponsor Groups in ISE 2.1). Once you create a new group or Duplicate a Group, you can add the members and then control which guest type they can create using this box:

Click the white x to remove a Guest Type. Click in an empty area inside the box to see a list of available Guest Types.
