What does operational data consists of?

Hi Experts,

Just wanted to know what information is backed up in the operations data on ISE?
Can this be used to extract reports for more than 90 days...?
Report including posture by endpoint or posture by posture policy?

Hi @dgaikwad ,

1st, you are able to purge MnT Operational Data via:

ise/admin# application configure ise
Selection configuration option
...
[3]Purge M&T Operational Data
...
3
Enter number of days to be retained in purging MnT Operational data [between 1 to 90 days]
For instance, Entering 20 will purge MnT Operational data older than 20 days
Enter 'exit' to return to the main menu without purging
Enter days to be retained: 1
You are about to purge M&T data older than 1 from your database.
Are you sure you want to proceed? y/n [n]: y
M&T Operational data older than 1 is getting removed from database

2nd, in Administration > System > Maintenance > Operational Data Purging, you are able to define the Data Retention Period (30, 60, 90 days for ex.).

3rd, you are able to check the status of the Operational Backup on MnT and not on PPAN:

PPAN/admin# show backup status
%% Operation backup status
%% ------------------------
% backup name: OPER-DATA
% repository: <REPO NAME>
% start date: Tue Jun 09 04:00:09 BRT 2020
% scheduled: yes
% triggered from: Admin web UI
% host: <MnT FQDN>

4th, the Operational Data Backup contains MnT Data (ex.: RADIUS and TACACS+ logs) and not ISE Configuration.
