Smart licensing

Our ISE is smart licensed till yesterday all the license were showing in compliance.

Today i observed an alarm stating smart licensing Authorization renewal failure. When i checked base license was showing released entitlement with the consumption count as 2.

Other license are last authrised with todays date except base license.

I tried refreshing it but no help. All the radius device authentication is working fine as expected

Please suggest me on this.

Thanks for responding. Yes i saw these documents. In my case the device count is not zero and its changing my suspect is its using evolution license now.

But we have purchase license.

I don't think you're operating in Eval Mode - that would only happen if you intentionally hit the "Deregister" button on the ISE 3.0 licensing page.

Something is not well with Smart Licensing in ISE. Maybe raise a TAC case and see what they come up with

Thanks for the response. When I checked the license today all license are showing in compliance.

Can you please let me know will the ISE daily try to authorise with cisco servers for ISE renewal. If yes would it be the connectivity issue with cisco servers.

Hi @abhishekrsgowda ,

if there is a change in the Compliance status when ISE synchronizes with the CSSM server, the Last Authorization column is updated accordingly.

ISE 2.3: at 1:00 AM every day, ISE reports peak counts daily to the CSSM Server based on the Yesterday's Peak Count data.

ISE 2.4+: every 6h (from the time you register your ISE PAN with the CSSM Server), ISE reports peak counts daily to the CSSM Server.

Thanks for the response. Last Authorization column is always updating with new date and timings and i am able to authenticate radius protocol using devices as well without any issue.(observed from 2 days)

But compliance is started showing released entitlement from last 2-3 days.
