topic Cisco ISE VM memory increase in Network Access Control

Hi Community Members,

Recently I came across high utilization on my ISE VM (PSN) node running version 3.3 patch 4. To diagnose the issue TAC was engaged and as per the recommendation from TAC I need to increase RAM size from 32Gb to 96Gb for which I have to shutdown the ISE VM. A little confusion over using both commands or single command i.e. application stop ise or halt. Pls suggest should I use both or any one of them would do the job.

Regards,

MT

- If you gracefully shutdown an ISE node from the CLI with "application stop ise", then the "halt" command, this node will boot up with it's data intact ; so it's important to have both commands executed in that order , the first one stops the ISE apps first,

Thanks @Mark Elsen for the clarification. Once the memory upgrade is completed I only have to issue application start ise to start the VM right ?

-:You only need to power on the VM. ISE will then start automatically : check the status of ISE afterwards with :

     show application status ise
