Dear All,

Got a problem when I tried to restore my backup.

What version of ISE are you attempting to restore the backup from ISE 2.1? The last version that supported a direct upgrade from 2.1 was 2.6; both of which versions are past End of Support.

See a similar discussion here based on earlier versions of ISE. In that discussion, you will also find a link to the ISE Version Upgrade Matrix that lists the possible versions for direct upgrade from/to.

Yes, the backup file is generated by ISE 2.1 and this is our only one configuration backup, since the old ISE server was broken. I am using the new ISE server version 2.6 to restore the configure. Do we have any solution to solve this error. Thank you!

For anyone else in this predicament, let me save you the trouble and a weekend away from the family. Upgrading a client from 2.1, 2.4 or 2.7, just plan really well and build 3.4 from scratch. Take your snippets, and export policies, groups, devices, etc, whatever you can and then just build it out. TAC will just point you to professional services obviously.
