Alarm: External MDM Server Connection Failure

Hello,

I am getting the following alarm on the ISE node "External MDM Server Connection Failure", but communication does not seem to be lost between the ISE and Microsoft MDM. This happens sporadically, approximately every two or three days, the alarm goes off.

Could someone help me with this issue?

I can't lookup this bug, website says I am not entitled to view this bug. Could you provide more info?

We are testing the Intune MDM function and we're having this same alert every hour.

I have the same issue. Intune connection test shows totally fine but alerts come up everyday.

I'm not able to look this bug up either. Getting the 'not entitled to view this bug' message. Is it possible to get more information on this please?

We are also running into this error and cannot look up the info. We are seeing: "You are not entitled to access bug: CSCwh51297."

I also could not access the bug. I opened a support case and got the following response:

"Based on our analysis and the known Cisco bugs CSCwe11092 and CSCwh51297, these alerts are cosmetic false positives generated by the system and do not indicate an actual failure in the MDM connection or certificate trust. These bugs cause the alarms to appear randomly without impacting the actual operation or security of the Cisco platform."

"Unfortunately, there is no current fix to eliminate these false alerts entirely, but Cisco continues to monitor and work on improvements."

They advised me that I can disable the alert to reduce noise. Not ideal, as I'd hope to be able to rely on that alert to know if I'm actually having a production impacting issue with something auth relies on.

we are also getting the exact same message, and we have been working with multiple Cisco TAC but the answer is unknown.

sharing few samples MDM alarm which i am getting in our ISE deployment. Not sure if it's really a cosmetic bug or genuine issue. our ISE deployment is running on version -3.3 -patch8

External MDM Server Connection Failure. : Reason is Connection Failed to the MDM server host - fef.msua06.manage.microsoft.com; and port - null : Connection timeout occurred. Check if the MDM server is reachable : SocketTimeoutException message = Read timed out ServerType = MobileDeviceManager

Connecting to external MDM server failed

Alarm Name :

Details :

External MDM Server Connection Failure. : Reason is Failed to connect to MDM Server Intune-Integration : 400 Bad Request ServerType = MobileDeviceManager

Please check to make sure the MDM server is up and ISE-MDM API service is running on the MDM server
