      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Could you please explain your setup more clearly.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;For WCCP to work across firewalls, you need to open the UDP port 2048 for WCCP communication.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hope this helps&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-VJ&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks Vj &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;i was doing some research ok the cisco.com and i found that the version of IOS that i use is 7.0 and as far as i knew this version it's not supporting the WCCP i should upgrade it to the 7.2 (please correct me if i am wrong ) and i saw some configuration example&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;hostname(config)# wccp web-cache&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;hostname(config)# wccp interface inside web-cache redirect in&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt; but do I still need to open UDP port 2048 ??&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;thanks &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You are correct. WCCP is supported only from 7.2 for ASA.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The configuration that you are attempting is correct.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;For this scenario you dont need to open any port explicitly for the WCCP traffic.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you want allow WCCP traffic to pass through a firewall in between then you need to allow the specific port.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hope this helps.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-VJ&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
