    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;if you mean a pix failover unit on it's own then it will work but it will reboot after 24 hours as it is not meant to run on it's own. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Howver If you have a primary and a failover unit and the primary fails then the failover will run as the primary indefinitely. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;HTH &lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Does the cisco pix failover works alone ?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Can I use it by itself without a primary firewall ?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Are there any docs in cisco that clarify this situation ? &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks to all&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
