Hello mabrouk,

Is this a new pix or already working one ?? if you do not see any console messages on bootup, u can check for the following:

1) Is the console cable the correct one? To make sure it is the correct one, check whether or not the console cable and the PC serial port work on another device, such as a Cisco IOS? router. If another device is not available, compare the ends of the cable side by side. The cable should be rolled, with the wire colors exactly reversed. If necessary, also check whether or not the console port works with a different PC.

2) Hope the terminal emulator settings are fine.

3) memory in the pix has not been seated properly. In this case, the fan functions, but PIX does not

4) Are any LED's glowing ?? If not , you might have a faulty unit.. you might have to raise a RMA request for this device...

You can see more of troubleshooting tips on the URL below. The steps above are actually a part of this doc:

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/110/pix_hrdwre_trblsht.html

Let us know more details on this. try all the above procedure..

Hope this helps.. all the best.. rate replies if found useful..

Raj
