Hello Cindy,

THe VPN connection on any ASA box is not unlimited. It is actually dependent on the hardware.. There is no seperate license needed for remote access/site-to-site VPN, but there is a limitation on the number of users, because of hardware restriction on each box. There are also other features running on the box, so each feature has its own limitation !!!

For a 5510, the max vpn connection, simultaneous is 250.... you can have a look at this URL for details on all models of ASA 5500..

http://cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6120/products_data_sheet0900aecd80402e3f.html

Hope this helps.. all the best.. rate replies if found useful..

Raj

K8 denotes the DES encryption for IPSEC, and K9 has 3DES... upgrading to K9 is also free nowadays.. you can just go to this URL and give the PAK no to get the license.

https://tools.cisco.com/SWIFT/Licensing/PrivateRegistrationServlet

Hope this helps.. all the best.. rate replies if found useful...

Raj
