I don't have access to download the firmware upgrade because it's a "1-click" package AMI from AWS Marketplace and there is no smartnet associated with the purchase (see link below) :

https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/B00WH2LGM0?qid=1520864283389&sr=0-1&ref_=srh_res_product_title

So, my Cisco Account doesn't allow me to download the firmware file.

Any idea to resolve this?

Thanks.

How can I upgrade the firmware version of an ASAv running in AWS?

I don't want to rebuild a new instance from scratch.

So, is there a way to proceed with a simple upgrade

CURRENT RUNNING VERSION = 9.6.2.1
AWS AMI LATEST VERSION = 9.9.1.2

We have an issue where the ASAv crashes and it seems to be the bug described below :

https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvc07330/?referring_site=bugquickviewclick

Thanks.

ASAv running in AWS can be upgraded just like a physical appliance using the standard *smp-k8.bin that can be obtained from cisco.com.

Upgrade instructions are at:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/asa/upgrade/asa-upgrade/asa-appliance-asav.html

PLEASE can you please answer HOW you were able to get access to the updated version???? It would be so amazingly helpful if you could please advise on how you obtained access. I'm aware that you need a smart agreement tied to that ASAV but how do you obtain a smart agreement without a contract number or instance number.
