With FirePOWER services you need to purchase the FirePOWER licenses for both the Primary and Secondary ASA.

Unlike the base ASA software, the FirePOWER modules do not have any idea that the mate ASA in the HA pair is backing it up.

FirePOWER modules and Licensings

We have a pair of ASA 5525-X with no FirePOWER modules and was wondering if we should purchase two of these SSD drives:

Micron_M600_MTFDDAK128MBF , one for primary and the second for standby.

As for licenses (think of getting this - L-ASA5525-TAMC-1Y) , I read that you should only get the primary licensing as the policies are configured and management different from the primary to the standby ASA. Is that true? If that is the case, there is no need to get a second FirePOWER module for the standby ASA? And there is no real redundancy and automatic policies coverage on the standby if we want to use the Malware and URL subscriptions if there is a failover?

And if we don't get a similar license and if there is a failover, we will have to fail back to the primary when it is back to normal again to fully utilize the FirePOWER module.

Please advise. Thank you in advance.
