It’s a VPN 3000 Concentrator that we have set up as a gateway followed by a PIX and we are utilizing VPN Client Version 4.6. The users can ping any server on the network after establishing a tunnel but when they attempt to access any file or print server it is usually very slow or there is simply no response.

Occasionally, the users are able to establish connection without problems however more often then not they run into issues when attempting to access resources on the network. The tunnel is established but when they attempt to check e-mail, browser and sometimes even when logging on to the network, their pc freezes up, is very slow and/or disconnects them. Any suggestions?

Not without some more info. It sounds like MS browser trouble at first guess, but hard to tell. Can they ping servers? is it a VPN gateway or a router running VPN in software etc? Client or SSL clientless ? etc.

Hi. I have similar problems. PC freezes sooner or later when using VPN. PC must be restarted with on/off button. Task manager cannot be started with ctrl-alt-delete.

I have two computers at home of different brands, which both freezes after connecting vpn, either very soon after after doing some work, pretty randomly it seems.

Is this an unusual problem? Was not able to find anyone at the office who had this severe form of freezing the PC.

best regards

Bertil Friman, Stockholm
