I want to be able to write a script that will shutdown a PRI on a 3640 so that no one can dial in when work is taking place on a production server. I would like to give the script to a group of operators but I don't want them to have the password for the router, so they can't play (and mess it up).

Is it possible or do I need to look at a different solution ?

Some of our developers use Perl and TCL to do the same thing; me, I don't have a clue of how they do it, but it is provided via a web page that the operators can click on to activate.

-Jeff

You ever had one of those revelations after you posted? I just thought of another solution - we also use Procomm Plus v4 for telnetting, and we use many different scripts for many different processes. These scripts are compiled - so you could provide the operators with the compiled script and keep the source code tucked away.

-Jeff
