topic Burstable FR PVC's in Network Security

Hi guys

Am running a FR network. The rquirement is of allocating burstable BW on a PVC basis. Have tried FRTS using map class and Frame-relay CIR, Bc, Be parameters.

The problem is that using the above settings am able to give any CIR on a PVC basis but am unable to achieve any traffic bursting. The sh FR pvc shows 0 be bytes/pkts..

Any help/tips would be greatly welcomed.

Thanks

First you have to configure a Map class with the defined parameters for the specific PVC.

Next you have to enable 'frame-relay traffic-shaping' command on the physical inerface.

If you these two steps correctly the Show fr pvc will show the values you have configured for the respective parameter.

For example if you configure the Be to be 1000, the same will be reflected in the sh fr pvc output. This command will will not show you the bursting traffic. The following command will show the traffic that was queued show traffic-shape queue

For sample configs check out the following URL's.

http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/125/traffic_shaping_6151.html

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios121/121cgcr/qos_c/qcprt4/qcdfrts.htm
