how to install fmc from "do not untar" archive

Hello for everybody.

Trying to install FMC 6.4.0.7 downloaded from

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286259687/type/286271056/release/6.4.0.7

But it does not work to deploy the archive to the esxi as an ovf template. Maybe, i'm doing something wrong... All the guides that I found describe the installation process in a different way - you need to download the archive, unpack it and select the desired type of ovf template.

Hi there,

You need to start at the first minor version 6.4.0 to get the installation files:

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286259687/type/286271056/release/6.4.0

and then upgrade using the patch:

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286259687/type/286271056/release/6.4.0.7

Yes, im looking for esxi.
