Firepower 1010 - PPPoE on VLAN interface

Hello All,

Does anyone can advice if on Firewall Firepower 1010 there is a possibility to configure VLAN interface and under this VLAN interface configure PPPoE connection?
I recall that it was possible on the ASA5506-X for example, but I'm not sure if it's possible on it's successor.

Hi,

You'll have to use FMC in order to configure PPPoE, not FDM. In case, you don't have support for PPPoE to a VLAN interface (however i don't see any reason, i didn't see it documented, but cannot 100% confirm as did not touch with a 1010), you have support for PPPoE for routed port, so you can still use PPPoE.

Thanks for your reply.
The reason is that IPS delivering the internet also provides few other services. All services have own VLAN thus there is a need to have VLAN interface configured as an outside interface and there PPPoE.
But if it's not possible without FMC, then it's a shame. I will have to search for a different firewall then .
