Is Cisco ASA 5510 supported with new anyconnect VPN only, plus & apex license model as the device is end of support and will the licensing be procured per headend even in active standby mode(.i.e.: its 1 license for active and 1 for standby)

AnyConnect 4.x will work even with ASA 5510. If you are running the latest versions on that platform (9.1.7-32) the licenses will be shared in an HA pair. That feature has been the case since 8.2 if I recall correctly.

VPN Only AnyConnect license PAKs can only be redeemed for a single unit (but still shared within an HA pair).

If you buy Plus or Apex licenses you can redeem the PAK to obtain multiple activation keys if you like and install the license on both units on an HA pair (not required but it can be done).

here I read and my understand is you dont need to be ASA under support contract as long as you have anyconnect lic activation keys

Correct - you can add new keys to an EoL ASA without a support contract.

Of course if something goes wrong you are out of luck. So be sure to save the current activation-key value in advance just in case.
