topic Any News if the FTD VTI Feature Will Be Supported on ASA 5500-X? in Network Security

I just saw today that FTD finally supports VTI for a few months now. I was sad to see it's only new the latest version which ASA 55xx-X do not support. What are we to do if we need VTI supprot on ASA 5506-X? Is that ever coming?

No, the ASA 5506-X only supported up to version 6.2.3 and VTI was released in version 6.7.

You'll have to use ASA software instead of FTD software on the ASA 5506-X hardware if you want to use a VTI. VTI is supported on ASA from version 9.7, suggest using a newer recommended version.

HTH

Another solution would be to replace the 5506 with a Firepower 1010 appliance. That device is fully supported with the latest FTD-software, including VTIs. It is the logical replacement for the outdated 5506-X.
