The virtual software is not a purchase only the licensing is. I would suggest contacting your local Cisco partner for download of FMCv.

I believe if you provide Cisco TAC with proof of purchased license, and perhaps the serial number of your FTD they would assist you with download of FMCv also. I would also suggest trying to arrange access (via your Cisco partner or perhaps TAC if no other option) to all future releases of FMCv so you can download the software your self.

I am presently managing our new Firepower 2130 using the on box FDM software. I want to use FMC virtual. Have purchased two licenses (Firepower MCv) from our Cisco vender and the licenses do appear on my Smart Licensing inventory. Need the software to install in my VMware environment. I am apparently not authorized to download the software? Is the software a separate purchase? Does anyone have experience with this. Called Cisco, they ask for serial number, there is not serial number because the virtual appliance I am trying to create is, well................virtual.

Thank you so much for the advice. I will again contact both our Cisco Partner and Cisco TAC. I have done so previously and both point to the other for a solution and a dead end is reached.

Hopefully, this time will be different. Thank you again and I hope you have a great day.
