How to configure physical interface IP address ?

Hello all,

I have configured the FTD (FPR-1120)server, it is working fine. Unfortunately, I added wrong IP address in FTD server external interface. I want to change the IP access or delete but I could not change the IP address so how can I change or delete the existing interface IP address. kindly check the attached screenshot.

The error message says it quite clear. Whatever you have configured on Ethernet1/6 is the same IP subnet and that is not allowed.

in addition to what Karsten has said, you cannot have an IP that is within the same subnet on two interfaces. For example you cannot have 192.168.1.1/24 on one interface and 192.168.1.2/24 on another interface on the same FTD device.

I can understand your point of explanation. Anyhow, I configured it, but still, I can't delete or modify the IP address.

My main aim is to change the old configured IP to new IP. But same subnet should remain.

So the old IP is 192.168.0.129/24 and what do you want to change it to?

What IP is configured on interface Eth1/6?

Did you have the interface in question configured for DHCP previously?

Are you able to edit the IP but not able to save after?

I had already configured the IP's as shown in the above screenshot.

But, while rearranging the configured IP's address, I am facing the issue as shown,

As already mentioned, you can't have the same IP range on two interfaces. And the IP on Eth1/6 is in the same range. You need to decide where you want to use this range. If you want to have it on the interface you are configuring at the moment, you first have to remove the IP from Eth1/6.

WAIT: The other interface are also in that range. Before going on with this, better exactly describe what you want to achieve on this firewall. What should the resulting setup be?
