Hi,

I would like identify each node that is sending out syslog. Currently the FMC is configured in the Device platform to use the hostname.

I've read the following in a number of Cluster documents :-

"If you configure logging to use the local-node name that is assigned in the cluster bootstrap configuration as the device ID, syslog messages look as if they come from different nodes."

I've looked through the FMC on where I can configure logging to use the Local-Node name but can't find any reference to this. In the Device>Platform Settings>Syslog there is the Enable Syslog Device ID option, which when turned on provides 3 options:-

-interface

-User defined ID

-hostname

Does anybody know how I can change the syslog to use the local-node name so that syslog from each node will have it's node-name as the identifier?

Many thanks.

René
