Does FTD enforce password strength when using external authentication method?

When I try to add a user with external authentication method, I can't see any option to check password strength.

D@1984 it's the external authentication source password policies that dictates the password strength.

When you select external authentication to mean you are using a source of AD or any other format ? where are you creating the user?

the password workd for all devices except for the ftd, so its something about FTD that doesnt like it.

the users are created ON FTD but using external authenticating (nac server)
