If you are trying to reimage a Cisco Firepower 1010 (FPR1010) from ASA to FTD using a USB drive but the device isn’t detecting it when using show flash: or dir /all, there are several important points to consider. First, ensure that the image file, such as cisco-ftd-fp1k.7.6.2-329.SPA, is copied as-is to the root of the USB drive and not unzipped. The USB must be FAT32 formatted, and smaller drives (16GB or less) are more reliable. Plug the USB into the correct Type-A port on the appliance. To verify if the USB is detected, reboot the device into ROMMON mode by pressing ESC during boot and use commands like dir usb0: or show file usb0:. If the USB still isn’t recognized, consider using a TFTP server to load the image instead. Once the USB or TFTP server is accessible, you can run system install usb0:/cisco-ftd-fp1k.7.6.2-329.SPA from ROMMON to replace ASA with FTD. Ensure all these steps are followed carefully to complete the reimaging process successfully. my wisely
