The Internal-Data1/4 is introducing newly after version 9.6.2. Check IP if same for Internal-Data1/4 and your interface. if same then you need to change the IP of your physical interface.

Hi,

We have been using the ASA5506-X in our products for a while. With Security Appliance SW Version 9.6 we have not had a problem. Recently, we are getting firewalls with version 9.8 where our configuration does not work.

We configure one of the interfaces as follows:

ip address 169.254.4.1 255.255.240.0

With version 9.8, the following error occurs:

ERROR: Failed to apply IP address to interface GigabitEthernet1/6, as the network overlaps with interface Internal-Data1/4. Two interfaces cannot be in the same subnet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Herbert.
