hi,

i understand the upgrade path but i can't even transfer 9.8 image from the current 8.6 code. i need to confirm whether you need to be strictly running on the 9.0.2 before you can FTP the 9.8 image or can it be transferred by renaming the .bin image file.

FTP ASA code 9.8

hi,

i plan to upgrade an ASA 5525-X 8.6 code to 9.8.

so upgrade path: 8.6 > 9.0 > 9.8

i've already FTP the 9.0 image on the ASA but when I FTP 9.8 i'm getting an error "No Cfg structure found"

per my google search, i need to upgrade and boot to 9.0 code first. also FTP transfer takes a long time due to geo location of the FTP server and ASA. so there's a time constraint on my change window.

my question is, is there a way to 'trick' the FTP let's say rename the image file to FILE.bin so it would be accepted?

copy ftp://ftpuser:ftpuser@192.168.1.1/asa982-35-smp-k8.bin flash

!!

No Cfg structure found in downloaded image file
