topic Thanks Rahul in Network Security

Thanks Rahul

As a matter of fact the certs were not visible in ASDM after restore. I assume that I have got a buggy version of ASDM. I imported them via CLI and now everything is fine. But as you say they should be there I will try it out once more via ASDM when I have the opportunity.

Certificates in ASDM Backup/Restore

Hi

What happenes to identitiy certificates in an ASA backup/restore situation? Are they part of the ASDM backup and restored to the new system? Or do I have to restore them manually after the general restore (what do I do with the trustpoint on the new system then?!?) ?

Any hint is appreciated

Mat

They are part of the ASDM

They are part of the ASDM backup/restore process. You will have to provide a password to export the certs during the process, and the same password would have to be used during import. In any case, it is good to keep a backup of the certs and keys independent of the backup process also in case of any other issues with the ASA.
