&lt;P&gt;Some One kindly Provide help to my Cisco asa5516 fpwr k8&amp;nbsp; Upgrade to k9 version.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I Took the 3des/aes activation key from Cisco website...that is via....&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Cisco Product Registration-&amp;gt;get other licenses-&amp;gt;ips crypto other-&amp;gt;Seurity products-&amp;gt;Cisco ASA 3DES/AES License ....And i provided Serial Number.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Got the email regarding key....&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Key : 0121e5xx d4b27exx ac4369xx b8a098xx 842618xx&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Tried to add key via command in ASA CLI&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;activation-key&amp;nbsp;&lt;SPAN&gt;0121e5xx d4b27exx ac4369xx b8a098xx 842618xx&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;But Not able to activate the key...&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;error message is&amp;nbsp;ERROR: The requested activation key was not saved because it is not&lt;BR /&gt;valid for this system.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;what might be my issue??&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The only time I have seen this on a correctly created activation-key request (as you appear to have) is when Cisco sends two keys - one for 8.2 and earlier and one for 8.3+ - in the same email. If you use the wrong one, you will get that result.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Otherwise, you will need to ask the TAC and/or licensing team to resolve once your Smartnet is active.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;I found that serial number is different in show version.Created key via that serial number.thus resolved the issue..&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;now 3des/aes I enabled...&lt;/P&gt;
