topic ASA5505 firewall stops forwarding in Network Security

Hi,

I am running a Cisco ASA5505 firewall with software version 8.2(5) and unlimited hosts license.

It worked fine for years but all of a sudden it seems to stop forwarding packets. The GUI and CLI can still be reached. No errors in the logging, it seems to happen randomly every 1 or 2 days or so. After a reload its working again untill the next occurence.

Any ideas what the cause might be and how to solve this?

Best regards,

Perhaps it is what it plugs

Perhaps it is what it plugs into. Perhaps next time try unplugging the patch leads and plugging them back in. If it resolves it next time only do one lead at a time.

That sounds like a good suggestion, thanks! I will do that the next time it occurs (just reloaded it half hour ago).
