topic ASA 5505 - "invalid input detected" when attempting to delete image from flash in Network Security

I'm unable to delete an image from flash on 5505. I'm able to question mark after erase but as soon as I add a / to specify the file name it gives me invalid input with the ^ pointing at the F in flash:. Any ideas what's causing this? I've tried entering it from both exec and conf t mode with same issue, and I'm confident that I'm in privilege 15, although show privilege isn't a recognized command either, which further confuses me.

# erase flash:/asa917-k8.bin
             ^
ERROR: % Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
#

# erase ?

disk0: Filesystem to be erased
flash: Filesystem to be erased
# erase flash:/?
ERROR: % Unrecognized command
# erase flash:?

Well that worked. I'm still

Well that worked. I'm still confused on why show priv wasn't recognized. Or why there's an erase and a delete command with different functionality. Oh well. Thank you!

erase is for wiping the whole

erase is for wiping the whole flash disk, not just a single file. So consider yourself a lucky escape there.
