topic Hi Karsten, in Network Security

Hi Karsten,

What do you mean by "some form" here. If this means with one to one direct physical connectivity then it's Ok. But if FWs are connected to each other through switches.....then question is still not picked up properly

Firewall With Firewall Connectivity

Hello Experts,

Would like to know, Why this is not advisable to connect Firewall with other Firewall directly for data communication,

Rgds

Who states that? In high

Who states that? In high-security environments, you often find multiple layers of firewalls which are in some form directly connected.

It's not clear exactly what

It's not clear exactly what the question is.

With multiple firewalls there are a number of ways of connecting the DMZs ie. to the front end only, the back end only or to both firewalls so it's difficult to answer your question.

Can you perhaps give a few more details ?

Typically there are switches

Typically there are switches between them. Without it's harder (but not impossible) to achieve high-availability for the firewall environment. So still, it's not uncommon and I still have no idea where you got this information.
