&lt;P&gt;You could also use the ASDM.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Tools -&amp;gt; Connamd Line Interface&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Then run the command "show version".&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;is it an ASA 5500-X next-gen FW?&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;take note the part number or chassis serial number can be found using the &lt;STRONG&gt;show inventory&lt;/STRONG&gt; command. this serial number is used for smartnet.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;the &lt;STRONG&gt;show version&lt;/STRONG&gt; will give you the ASA image version and the serial number used for licensing ASA features.&lt;/P&gt;
