Upgrade ASA IOS with CX Module

Hi Guys,

Good Day!

Just want to ask if it is possible to upgrade only the ASA IOS and not affecting my CX module because I'm terrified about what Cisco included in their documentation in upgrade matrix as shown below.

"ASA CX SSP software module

Requirements: Cisco solid state drive (SSD)

Note: For ASA Version 9.3(2) and later, only ASA CX Version 9.3.2.1 and later is supported. When upgrading your ASA, first upgrade the ASA CX software; otherwise the ASA CX module can become unresponsive."

Hi,

You need to make sure that the CX module version is compatible with the ASA version you are upgrading to.

May i know what are the current versions of both ASA and the CX module ?

I will upgrade my ASA IOS to 9.2(4.5) and my current CX version that I want to retain is 9.3.3.2.

Hi,

It shouldn't be an issue as the CX module is compatible with the ASA version.
