Sync clock time with logging time

Hello community,

I guess this could be an easy question for most of the people here, unfortunately not for me.

The firewall on which I'm working has an NTP configuration (which works) but the logs are not in sync, see the example below:

ASA01p# show clock

15:56:19.115 CDT Tue Sep 15 2015

ASA01p# show logg

Sep 15 2015 20:19:38: %ASA-6-302021: ........................

On routers and switches I can fix it with the command: service timestamps log datetime localtime

Anything similar for ASA?

My configuration is:

ntp server 10.2.2.2
ntp server 10.1.1.1
clock timezone CST -6
clock summer-time CDT recurring
logging enable
logging timestamp
logging buffer-size 204800
logging buffered debugging
logging history notifications
logging asdm informational

Logs will use the same time

Logs will use the same time as synced on the ASA.

What is the ASA version you are using?

Not sure what fix it, but I get tired of the mismatch so I cleared the buffer after that the time match 😄

Risseth, in your experience, would you remove/add something to my previous configuration?

Hi Roland,

The configuration looks fine, and the logging timestamp changes automatically as soon as there

is change in clock timing. It am not sure how the clearing of buffer helped in fixing the issue.

As far as configuration is concerned, i do not think you need to change anything.
