asa5525x Disk0: with zero allocated space

I have a customer with an ASA5525x where the allocated space for disk0: is zero and the space for disk1: is 8G. It came from the factory with all of the files on disk1:. This is not the normal configuration and I can find no way to correct it (or if I should even try). According to the documentation for this device disk0: should be the internal flash drive and disk1: should be an external drive in a USB port. Everything works except for the "write mem" or any command referencing flash:. Has anyone seen this before or have any suggestions?

What do you mean by allocated space. Do you mean used space ?

If yes , can you post the show disk output from the output ?

Also , disk1: as you correctly pointed out is the external flash on the ASA device.

There is no external flash drive plugged in, so the flash must be internal.

Internal USB Drive

An embedded USB (eUSB) device is used as the internal flash ( disk0 ). See Hardware Specifications for the size shipped with each model.

External USB Drives (Optional)

The ASA 5500-X supports external USB flash drives for data storage. The ASA 5500-X uses disk1 as the external USB flash drive identifier. When the ASA is powered on, an inserted USB flash drive is mounted to disk1 and available for you to use. Additionally, the file system commands that are available to disk 0 are also available to disk1, including copy , format , delete , mkdir , pwd , cd , and so on. When you remove the USB flash drive, the system unmounts disk1, and disk1 becomes an invalid file system label that you can no longer access.

If you insert a USB drive with more than one partition, only the first partition is mounted.

There is no external drive

There is no external drive attached to the ASA. It came from the factory with the files loaded on disk1: and disk0: undefined. I have installed more than a hundred ASA boxes, but this is the first X model. I have never seen an issue like this before. The unit functions normally, so I do not plan on wasting a lot of time on it, but is just not normal.

21475885056 bytes total (0 bytes free)

any known bug that I cant find? or some steps I can do ?

@Amen delete any old crashinfo and coredump files from the ASA. Also any old system images that aren't being used. Repeat until you get the free space down to what you need.

Hello Marvin, Thank you for your answer, I just rebooted the device now, and I could see free space, and the issue was completely solved.
