FirePower button missing ASA5506

The FirePower button is not visible in ASDM (it was originally on the management interface). I changed it to the internal LAN in the CLI, it appears to load at startup but I don't have the configuration button anymore in ASDM and no option to add it. Service is running and I see the ASA FirePower status tab in the Home menu but nothing under the configuration buttons anymore.

ok, following a few threads

ok, following a few threads on this ... i have ASA 5506X, OS is 9.5(2), ASDM 7.5(2).

Having the Java issue with win10 (unable to load config when firepower module is active ... ok running from linux then).

Followed the quick start guide, got the management port on the same VLAN as the inside interface. Got the firepower IP address in the same subnet as the inside interface, they can ping each other fine, i can ping from my laptop as well (different subnet) ...

When launching ASDM, all fine, all normal ASA options/tabs appear, except for the Firepower Tabs (only the status tab appears). Shows the module is up ... what next ?

Hello,

Could you please verify that you finished the sfr installation with both pkg and .img files?

If so , as a next step could you please check, if the ASA FirePOWER Status tab is present by clicking the Home icon in the ASDM .

Is t only the ASA FirePOWER Reporting tab and the ASA FirePOWER Dashboard are missing ?

Regards

fixed, it was the java on the windows. installed java 7u51 (as stated in another post) and that did the trick for win10 ... for Linux, i was running in over a NAT from a VM inside my laptop.

As far as the sfr installation, the ASA5506X was purchased with all included, already installed, and I had already answered the initial setup, everything was ping-able.

Though the doc (quick setup guide) has an error, where it suggests to use the inside interface as the default GW for the sfr module. Thought at one point that may have been the issue. Could not communicate with it at all anymore. So i changed back the default GW to the SVI on the switch (shared with the inside interface).

So all good. Thank you for all the hints, this was helpful. 🙂

Hello,

I have the same problem, only the FirePower Status bar is presented.

Everything is configured, i can ping asa and sfr, i can ssh to sfr.

Java 7u51 and two version of ASDM, 7,2 and 7.5.

What else can be checked to have firepower button under Configuration?

I found:

platform (ASA 5500-x other than 5506/08/16) sfr module version 5.3.x does not support ASDM-based management

Thanks a lot
