ASA 5585-X with FirePOWER SSP-40

Hello,

I will implement a Cisco ASA 5585-X with FirePOWER services and I have some doubts about the ASA5585-SSP-SFR40 module.

In addition to the FirePOWER Services, what else can I expect from the module in Slot 1?
It works as a redundant SSP for Slot 0?
What happens if the SSP-40 in Slot 0 fail?
Can I do link aggregation using interfaces from Slot 0 and Slot 1 together?
What Cisco documentation I can find this information?

Hi,

As per your queries , Slot 1 in this case is a logically totally different module.

This will specifically be used for the SFR functionality. It will not work as a redundnt module to Slot 1 as they are two totally different slots.

If SSP 40 Fails , the ASA device fails and the module would automatically stop working.

Yes , you can use the Onboard ports on this module for Link Aggregation.
