I am trying to mainatain a 5505 firewall from my office Mac OSX, using the ASDM java application.

However, it refuses to run after I upgraded to the latest OSX version 10.10.1 (Yosemite)

When activating it the system says I need to get the Java Runtime Environment for Web Start-program.

I have installed the latest version ( version 8 from Oracle) but there is no change, I still get the same message.

Any suggestions how to solve this is appreciated.

BN

For OS X 10.10 you need:

install the JDK, not the JRE. There are some bugs that also restrict other Java-apps from working when only the JRE is installed.

Add the IP of the ASA to the list of trusted sites in Systemsettings -> Java -> Security -> Site list

Have you also tried the JDK instead of the JRE? And you should update the ASDM to a recent version like 7.3.1.101
