After ASA 5505 upgrade, console access requires a user and pw?

I upgraded my 5505 from 8.2(5) to 8.4(7) and now when consoled in it requires a username and password? I had 2 priv 15 users setup, but neither works. I searched the web but I cannot find anything on this, so I humbly turn to the experts...

Authentication on an ASA will not by default fall back to the local database. However if you already had "aaa authentication console LOCAL" setup, it should continue to allow it after your upgrade.

Can you access via ssh or ASDM and check that or are you totally locked out?

I was headed down that path 🙂

No, before the upgrade a user and password were not needed. Blew my mind as well. There had to be something in the config prior to upgrading to cause this.

Thanks to both of you!!
