    <description>&lt;P&gt;The hardware module will always initialize on power cycle. You'd have to physically remove the IPS SSP and replace it with a slot tray (to ensure proper airflow) if you want to have it gone altogether.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;However, if there's no service-policy in the ASA configuration redirecting traffic to it, it won't be in the flow of traffic.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have&amp;nbsp; ASA in Cluster (Failover) and i have a question, when shutdown module IPS (hw-module 1 shutdown) and reload the ASA Chassis, the module will start?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;how configure this module&amp;nbsp; to shutdown forever?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Cisco have any document for this situation.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
