Licensing for high availability firewall solution

Hi security experts,

i have a deployed scenario for ASA5540-BUN-K9 as active/active or active standby, i have been requested to add an SSL anycnnect premium license for 500 users assosiated with mobile license, shall i order one license for both boxes or order two license ( one for each)

I appriciate you suggestions

Hello,

As long as you run 8.3.1 or higher you will be able to start sharing licenses between failover mates so no need to have one license per box.

Be careful: remote access VPN is not (yet) supported in multi context mode.

Multiple context mode does not support the following features:
?RIP
?OSPFv3. (OSPFv2 is supported.)
?Multicast routing
?Threat Detection
?Unified Communications
?QoS
?Remote access VPN. (Site-to-site VPN is supported.)
