topic ASA5505 Syslog in Network Security

I'm planning to get ASA5505 syslog to a syslog server and for now i'm planning to use KIWI syslog server (licensed).

1. What are commands on my ASA to redirect logs to syslog server?

2. Do i need to keep my syslog server running 24/7. I'm planning to switch off syslog server when not in use, will ASA push syslogs that are been pushed to syslog servers?

Anyone recommned any other syslog server other than kiwi?

The ASA will not be able to push the messages (old) at later time when you bring up your PC. If you want to go in that direction, I suggest you increase 'log buffer size' in ASA so that you can later check the messages by issuing 'Show log' on ASA.

hth

MS
